We have two mailing lists, a low-traffic list specifically for event postings, and a more active discussion list. The idea behind this split is that those who are just interested in receiving announcements can subscribe to just the events list, while those who are interested in discussion as well can join both.

Both lists are run through the Mailman list management program, so to join either one, you need to visit its listinfo page and sign up there.

You can also use the listinfo pages to manage your subscription (changing your e-mail address or password, suspending mail delivery while you're on vacation, switching between normal and digest versions, etc.
